LINE CHARTS

ERA

Leake was cruising through May with a 2.36 ERA before facing the NL West and Interleague play. Those 3 starts to end the month of May nearly doubled the ERA after his start against The Atlanta Braves. The end result is that the ERA went up 53.80% to end May at 4.66.

WHIP

Earlier in the season, Leake was in the Top 10 of WHIP, but has seen a 44.44% increase in the WHIP. Leake will have to throw 19+ innings without allowing a hit or walk to get the WHIP back to 1.

RATES

  • The H Rate was at 16.50%, but had increased up to 38.45% and it is at 23.51%
  • The R Rate was at 8.89%, but had increased up to 45.19% and it is at 12.31%
  • The BB Rate was at 7.41%, but had increased up to 0.67% and it is at 7.46%

  • The HR/9 was at 1.26, but had increased up to 34.92% and it is at 1.70

STRIKEOUT TO WALK RATIO

Leake’s ability to strikeout batters took a decent dip. Leake was able to build strikeouts in his May 6th start and has declined to 37.04% since then. Leake at one point of the 2015 season had a 1.00 K/BB Ratio, but will range in the 1.68 to 2.46. Was this regression for Leake? Doubtful, since he owns a career 2.62 K/BB ratio. Leake can return to that 2.62 with 19 straight strikeouts before allowing a walk.
