On December 19th, 2013, the Cincinnati Reds signed Chien-Ming Wang to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training. Wang is a 33 year old who has plated for the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays and Washington Nationals.
Wang, as a minor league player, will receive a monthly salary of $15k in the Minor League. If Wang is called up to MLB Reds’, he will receive an annual salary of $1.25 million, which would be $104,166.67 monthly, a nice 594% payroll increase for Wang. If Wang reaches Incentives and bonuses, it could be up to $3 million.
