Game 62 (Cincinnati v St. Louis)

How disappointing was last night? Very disappointing. At least for me, I had family business to take care of so the emotions for anger weren’t there last night, but now the Reds have to do some work against the Cardinals because being behind the season series at 5-2 isn’t acceptable, they have 10 home games this season and need to take the advantage of being at home.

This preview is short today because Tyler Lyons is a fresh rookie out of the minor leagues and has not faced one Reds batter, but for Mat Latos, he has been dominant against the Cardinals this year and must be dominant tonight to beat them. Reds are 2-0 when Latos pitches against the Cards, but the first one was a 9-run 9th inning.

Tyler Lyons: Debut against the Cincinnati Reds

Mat Latos: 5 1/3 IP, 8 H, 2B, HR, 4 R, 2 BB & 4 SO

Let’s hope and pray that the Reds make Lyons work the pitch count and not be overwhelmed by a rookie pitcher. If that happens, they can win and avoid the Cardinals threat of the RISP.
